|THE STANDARD OF HUMANITY|
The first impression is the most important they say. When I met her, I became totally awestruck. I guess I stood there with my mouth wide open with awe. What a charm and gracefulness radiated from her being. It crossed my mind that here's not a mere bottle of a product, with a beautiful label, and the content could be anything. No, through Chanel 5 (or what ever it was), I sensed some kind of heavenly scent, which is so difficult to express. In these people who have dedicated their lives from the bottom of their hearts, is something truly special.
I got a slight shock for her first comment. She surely is a woman who goes straight to the point. According to her, those who claim that humans are just a species of mammals among others, are correct in their claim. Throughout the history of the mankind, territorial wars have brought plenty of suffering and death, reproductive instinct, and pushing the benefits of their own herds, have been primarily in people's minds. According to her, those who practise a religion are one herd, not only representatives of families or ethnical groups.
From the Kingdom of heven point of view, there are only two kinds of people. Outside are those who are not born again Also those who practice Sunday Christianity. Inside belong born again, 24/7 Christians: " Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time." (1. Peter 1:3-5)
I became awestruck again, when she claimed, that the Son of Man gave us the standard of being a real human. How low have we declined because of the the Fall. No one can reach such a high level of humanity. The standard is really high: "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matt. 5:48) It is true, that no one is able to reach it. Anyway, effort to reach it is counted perfection to us. We have been given tools for reaching that high goal, the power of the Holy Ghost: " For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live." (Romans 8:13)
In addition to the tools, the right kind of atmosphere is surrounding us. This atmosphere is grace: "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope's the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good." (Titus 2:11-14)
It is so blessed to spend at least a moment with that kind of people. Unfortunatelly it was over too soon. Geace had to hurry to the next meeting. Before she went away, she gave me these encouraging words. Though the path is long and often troublesome, the final result will be quaranteed: "For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:29-31)
With greetings of humanity
